             Not all similar note are shown on the pictures above. The old gray notes BBD 100 (without  thread and serial number below 3 200 000) are no more in circulation but are exchangeable in the Central Bank with no time limits.

Text Box: 	The Central Bank of Barbados was established in May 1972 by the Government of Barbados to advance the pace of economic development in the country. Prior to 1972, the East Caribbean Currency Authority (ECCA) was the institution responsible for the management of monetary matters for most of the smaller Eastern Caribbean countries, including Barbados. 
	Barbados is currently the No. 4 most developed of all developing countries in the world. 
	The island is also a major tourist destination.
	Since  1975 the rate of  BBD is fixed : 
		1 USD = 2 BBD
