Text Box: 	 Slovenia joined the Exchange Rate Mechanism (ERM II) in June 2004 and  started using euro notes and coins on 1 January 2007 with the rate of 239.64 SIT/EUR.
 	The dual circulation period lasted from 1 January 2007 to 14 January 2007.
	Commercial banks used to exchange the tolar banknotes and coins at the conversion rate into euro banknotes and coins free of charge until the 60th day inclusive after the adoption of the euro (until 1 March 2007).
	After 2 March 2007 it will still be possible to exchange tolars banknotes free of charge at the Bank of Slovenia without deadline, and coins for the coming ten years, i.e., until 31 December 2016.
