Text Box: 	The Bulgarian National Bank was established in 1879.
	After the introduction of a Currency Board Arrangement on July 1, 1997, the number of monetary policy instruments at the disposal of the Bank was reduced and the exchange rate is currently fixed by Law at 1.95583 Levs per Euro.
	In 1999 was introduced the new lev (BGN) equal to 1000 old levs (BGL). 
	The previous levs (1992+) notes and coins are redeemable at the Bank without time limits.
